Knitting Thimble and Quiet Times

So! It’s been quiet these days. What can I say? It’s what usually happens around this time of the year: I don’t really feel like picking up a project during summer… mostly because it’s too damn hot for yarn on my hands these days.

(We’ve actually been on a 4-day-vacation in Italy last weekend, to which I obviously brought my project bag – which I ended up not touching even once.)

Plus: I need to start studying for my next exam in earnest now.

Plus: we’re moving in three weeks.

Or, in other words: I am now actually 2 CAL Blocks behind, and will be 3 blocks behind by tomorrow, when #12 comes out. My Freddie-cushion isn’t advancing at all, and I haven’t even started with the *thing* for my sister’s baby – for which I only have approximately 2 months left to get it done. My idea is quite elaborate… but unfortunately I cannot get into it here, because my sister tends to read this blog sometimes!

Knitting ThimbleWhat I did do, however, is order a knitting thimble for multi-color projects. It arrived in the mail the other day, and on first glance it looks quite sturdy and useful.

I think it’ll turn out to be a great help for my Queen cushion tapestry crochet project. I can never actually work on it for long, because the tangle happens quickly – is huge – and very frustrating.

So inbetween studying, packing, and moving I am looking forward to getting a chance to try this thing out! If you have experience working with a knitting thimble, I’d love to hear about it!
