Ribbit… and starting anew.

Fortune's Shawlette Jaipur 4Remember the Fortune’s Shawlette…? Yeah, that.

It’s supposed to be for my daughter, and I am carrying it around with me in my purse on a daily basis, so that in theory I could work on it on my commute… but I just can’t. Even. Not sure why this is – the pattern really seems so tedious to do, and I am not happy with my choice of hook size, either. The result is way too fabric-y and not nearly enough lace-y, as I thought it would be.

I don’t like frogging projects, but as it is, chances are slim that I’ll ever finish it – much less on time for my daughter to still wear it this season. The problem is, of course, that she likes it – a lot. What I will do is a) either start over with a much larger hook and see what it does to the fabric, or b) do this instead:

I think this would look lovely, made with the yarn I am using. And work up much quicker, too. The pattern can be found on Ravelry as a free download!
